Besides providing certain welfare services for our people, such as health and insurance benefits, motor vehicle schemes, subsidised meals, educational programmes such as those on AIDS awareness, Ajax Fiori also places a strong emphasis on its social responsibilities as a company. Some of its undertakings in this regard are:
Tree Planting
At our factory in Doddaballapur, we have always placed an emphasis on growing trees and plants. In fact most guests who visit our factory are requested to plant a tree on the factory premises. Till date, trees such as Silver Oak, Teak, Kadamba, Ashoka and Champa have been planted by over 30 guests, from different parts of the world.
No Plastic Zone
In keeping with maintaining ecological harmony, we have a ‘No Plastic Zone’ area at our factory. This green area contains a large variety of trees, plants and bird baths.
Rain Water Harvesting
Ajax Fiori working together with Mr. Ayappa Masagi and the Water Literacy Foundation has implemented a Rain Water Harvesting System at our factory premises.
This system captures rainwater and storm water and has recharged the water level and existing bore wells in the surrounding area. Ajax Fiori is able to harvest, through this system around 9.5 million litres of water with every monsoon season.
Blood Donation Camps
Ajax Fiori encourages its’ people to donate blood – a life giving gift. Ajax Fiori as a company has organised and participated in several blood donation camps.
Ajax Fiori Trust
The Ajax Fiori Trust focuses on education for the underprivileged, especially the Girl Child.
The Trust has the following objectives:
To foster and encourage education and training (including vocational training) by providing guidance and financial assistance in cash or kind to the needy.
To provide medical aid / assistance in cash or kind to needy and deserving persons for medical treatment, hospitalisation etc.
To provide assistance in cash or kind, to procure equipment that ensures health, welfare and safety.
To encourage/help family member of employees to start income generating / self-help home based vocations like tailoring etc.
In this regard, Ajax Fiori has worked closely with organisations such as CREST (Centre for Research Education Service & Training for Family Life), Lion’s Club and Rakum, school for the blind.
